MX Movies

MX Movies opened in January 2013 and is designed to provide an enhanced in-theater dining experience, with generous and comfortable seating offering the first in-seat ordering technology in the US.

Tickets will be $12 for adults, $10 for students & seniors and $8 for children under 12 and during matinees. 3D movies come with a $2 surcharge. Theater 1 has 155 seats, Theater 2 has 121 seats and Theater 3 sits 69. Our ordering from the seat technology limits the distraction of servers taking orders found in other dine-in theaters and you are able to pay right from your seat.

While we can't pause the movie if you need to use the restroom, we can make it so you no longer have to get up in the middle of the movie for a refill ever again and you'll be able to order right from your seat using tablet technology to minimize distrubances during the movies! The food and beverage offerings will include traditional movie fare, a full bar, and an array of creative appetizers and local, hearty items designed to complement the movie watching experience from a local menu designed by James Beard nominated local chef Josh Galliano. The average price of a movie with a full meal and cocktail created by James Beard nominated chef Josh Galliano and new head chef Kore Wilbert will be around $35. A cafe and lounge will also be included to provide for before and after movie hospitality featuring classic and curated cocktails with tons of local craft microbrews on tap.

More than just a movie theater, the MX Movies experience includes:

  • 3 screens with crystal clear digital projection
  • High-quality in-theater food service by Chef Kore Wilbert
  • Liftable arm rests in seats allow you to combine or draw the line!
  • Lobby cafe/restaurant/bar

With events and excitement year-round, the MX radiates with metropolitan energy. It promises a welcoming environment for families, offers diverse amenities and options for downtown residents and office workers, and serves as a gathering place that connects the many popular tourist, nightlife and entertainment attractions already in the downtown St. Louis area.

The Mercantile Exchange (MX) is downtown St. Louis’ newest shopping, dining, entertainment, arts & culture, commercial and residential destination. The district is comprised of the area surrounding the MX and Laurel Buildings at 7th Street and Washington Avenue in downtown St. Louis.
